How to Trim a 10-Second Dance Video on Your Phone

Choose Opening, Middle, or Ending, prepare a private 10-second clip on mobile, and check playback before moving to an available generation workflow.

Selecting ten seconds on a phone is easier when you decide which movement the clip should contain before adjusting the controls. Aim for a short sequence that makes sense from beginning to end, with the dancers visible throughout.

Check the source video first

Open the generator, choose your own video, and select a file that is at least 10 seconds long and no larger than 100 MB. The browser must be able to handle its format and codecs. A file being called “MP4” does not guarantee that every device can decode the video inside it.

Watch the source preview before preparing a clip. If the original will not play, try a supported export from your video editor or choose another file. Do not continue on the assumption that trimming will repair a broken source.

Choose a continuous section

Opening selects a section at the beginning. Middle helps you start near the center. Ending selects the final ten seconds. For a more specific moment, adjust the start-time control and preview the selection.

Choose a movement with a readable start and finish. Avoid a section that begins during a camera cut, hides both faces, or ends before a gesture completes. For person replacement, visible subjects are more useful than a spectacular but heavily obstructed moment.

Prepare the private clip

Tap the preparation control and keep the page open while it works. The selected section is trimmed locally; only the finished clip is uploaded as private Preview material. The original stays on your device in this workflow. The private clip expires after 24 hours, so keep your own source if you may need it later.

The progress display is an estimate of preparation stages. Reaching a high percentage does not mean the upload and validation have finished. Wait for the ready message, then play the clip, check its ending, and try seeking near the eighth second.

If playback or preparation fails

Read the on-page message first. Use Retry playback if a ready clip will not play. If preparation failed after a long background interval, return to the page and retry; if the source is no longer readable, choose the video again. A refresh cannot always restore a device's access to the previously selected file.

For a support request, record the visible error code, browser, phone model, and whether you switched apps. The Contact page explains how to send those details without sharing private access links.

A ready clip is one preparation step

Private clip preparation does not spend generation credits or submit an AI task. Custom-video generation can remain disabled in a preview deployment. Check the current interface and confirmation screen before proceeding. The creation guide explains the photo and generation steps that follow.
